Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Safari

Your Chipmunk Expeditions safari begins. We depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, a land of ancient baobab trees and massive elephant herds. Known as the "Home of Elephants," Tarangire offers some of the best wildlife viewing in East Africa. We spend the day tracking predators and watching the activity along the Tarangire River. By late afternoon, we reach our lodge for a sundowner with views across the park.

After an early breakfast, we head toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We descend 600 meters into the world unmatched caldera—a self-contained Eden. The crater floor is a permanent home to over 25,000 large animals, including the rare black rhino. Prides of lions, herds of buffalo, and thousands of flamingos await. We enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending back to the rim for another night in the clouds.

We finish our safari at Lake Manyara National Park, a green gem located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley. Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions and the vast flamingo populations that turn the lake pink. After a morning game drive and a walk on the Treetop Walkway, we begin our return journey to Arusha. Your Chipmunk Expeditions driver will drop you at your hotel or the airport, leaving you with memories of the Northern Circuit.
